Jay has worked with athletes ranging from elementary school to professional athletes. He played a variety of sports throughout elementary up to the collegiate level including, football, baseball, wrestling, soccer and basketball. He did play basketball in college all four years and played football for a city-division team called the Shockers.

Learning Fitness from the Professionals

Jay's career first started with his internship under head Athletic Trainer Buddy Morris and Coach Davis for the Cleveland Browns. Since then, he has been head Strength and Conditioning Coach for a semi-pro basketball team, Mahoning Valley Wildcats, who were in the Cleveland area for a short time.

He was then the Head Trainer and Manager for Competitive Edge Sport Medicine owned By Athletic Republic. His training of athletes ranged from elementary to high school ages. The Mahoning Valley Steelhounds, Youngstown Phantoms and MV Thunder are all teams that Jay instructed and implemented sport-specific workout routines. Many youth athletes have gone on to play in college and pros under Jay’s training and supervision.

Jay was the Head trainer and Owner of The EDGE: Elite Athletic Sports Training for many years. There he had a client base of 87 athletes and 6 high schools/colleges, where he trained football, softball and soccer teams. Through his sports training, he has helped countless players achieve scholarships and guided them to be more confident and successful in moving to the next level.
